Daredevil Series Cancelled by Netflix

Heres the less-than-super news for the fans of Daredevil from Netflix.

Netflix confirmed that the Marvel’s crime-fighting superhero will not be coming back on screens for the fourth season. Netflix is truly sorrow for the bad and painful news it had to give to the fans of Daredevil.

“We are tremendously proud of the show’s last and final season and although it’s painful for the fans, we feel it best to close this chapter on a high note,” says Netflix.

The cancellation notice comes exactly one month after the premiere of the third season. Netflix thanks marvel, along with the show’s fans, for their support and for making season 3 a hit.

The good news is that the daredevil character will not die. It will continue for living on for other seasons and projects. Also, the three seasons of daredevil will not be deleted from any streaming service and will remain there for years to come.

Social media is blasting with various comments. Most of the people are getting upset and angry at its cancellation, other are giving thumbs up. Polls, however, have suggested that majority of the people are disappointed at the cancellation.

Amy Rutberg, an actress who played Marci on the show was heartbroken and surprised after getting the news that Daredevil has been canceled. The news shook her up, but she was optimistic that it would be for a greater good. She tweeted that Marci will never die from her memory.

The series started in 2005. It’s about a blind lawyer who suits up at night to become a vigilante in Hell’s kitchen, New York. This blind lawyer, played by Charlie Cox, is given the name of Daredevil by the people of Hell’s kitchen. Other people in the cast of Daredevil include Deborah Ann Woll, Rosario Dawson, and Elden Henson.

Netflix has a bad history of canceling series without prior notice, thereby, surprising the fans. Last month, it announced to cancel two series, both from Marvel- “Luke Cage” and “Iron Fist.” Both series had completed their two seasons.

The seasons Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Jessica Jones were combined to form a single series “The Defenders,” where the crime-fighting people form an alliance. Of these four seasons, only “Jessica Jones” is now running separately.

Daredevil was first of these series and was one of the most hit among them. The Daredevil character was created by Stan Lee and artist Bill Everett in 1964. On its debut, it made a great success.

Ben Affleck previously portrayed the character in a movie that was released in 2003. This film was an adaptation centering on the hero.

The era of Marvel TV on Netflix is seemingly coming to an end. At the same time, Disney is revving up its move to create its own streaming service. Disney has already announced new series Loki and Scarlett Witch series for Disney+. For now, the Marvel’s “Jessica Jones” and “The Punisher” are still receiving a green signal from Netflix and are planned to be released as scheduled.
